This design features a fabric conserving A line skirt, short sleeves with and without cuffs and your choice of collars. Reproduction feedsack fabric is very popular and available at most fabric stores. Pick something in your favorite color and sew up a little piece of history tonight.

Called "chicken linen," "hen house linen," or "pretties", feedsack cloth was recycled material from sugar, flour, grain and livestock feed sacks.  When opened, a feedsack bag was approximately 37" x 43"; more than one yard of fabric.

Printed with floral and geometric designs, they were used as material to sew everything from womens' and girls' dresses to boys' shirts.  Flour sacks, the softest and finest sack available, were used to make underwear, baby clothes and diapers.
